27 agosto Trying to access Session in base page!was jus trying to access the session variable in the base page to handle session time out.. had cleverly placed ma session accessing code in the constructor.. was wonder struck to identify tat session was null! infact i had a break point in session start() event, and on the base page constructor() .. was literaly puzzled to find the constructor executing first before the Session_Start() bt had a gut feeling , tat atleast in the next postback the Session will be existing when control flow hits the Bage page constructor.. but it didnt happen even then.. then i found this blog entry http://weblogs.asp.net/anasghanem/archive/2008/05/07/avoid-using-the-session-in-the-page-constructor.aspx wellll... in short.. dont u dare to access the damn session var in ur constructors.. push it to th Init() event ;) 26 agosto GeoGraphicaly track ur Online buddies ;)i have come across many situations whr close buddies discover that they both hav spent more than a month in the same city wit out each others knowledge!
is it quite hard to find if ur frnds visits ur town / city!! not at all :) bt thn who loves to call all ur frnds to say em tat they r gona visit X city, n enquire how many of theirs schedule sinks with theirs! hmmmm well, i doubt tat :)
may be u might tel couple of frnds abt ur travel plans..
When i was thinking abt it, i was just wondering if "the ad sense could publish me attractive, " Hot Gals in ur City - Hyderabad" n show MEXICAN blondes.. wel.. y not we use the same IP tracking to identify our frnds near our SURFING zone! ;)
we do surf from our PDA devices, office computer, n lappys thro wireless n/ws.. n bla bla bla.. never had we kept off checking our orkut scraps even on a trekking trip or watever! ;)
so we do leav our footprints.. as IP addresses.. we all dont have a GPS tagged to our asses, so th best way to find our locations could be th IPs..
infact u could wel publish ur current location :) but as a programmer, we would luv to hav a killer app.. which would eliminate any manual work ;)
may be, Users could OVERIDE the application by saying which place they r! ( add on feature :P )
so all we need is gather users IP, we could do this part in a variety of ways.. user surfing a specific page which will b part of our application.. which can say who all r in ur zone.. n who all visit this zone ( i mean mutual frnds! :D ) or we can go about creating this as an application for ORkut or Facebook.. which will inturn contact our application publishing the Users IP..
so u login to Orkut or Facebook or any Collaboration site, ur location is tracked and published to ur buddies to view.. they can get to know if u r some whr near them!
better call the person before u bump in, coz surfing from proxies or stuff can screw the above logic :)
and i did surf around searching how to plot on Live maps using IP address.. i couldnt find much.. but ppl do offer IP to lat and Long Translation.. but for a Hefty amount ;) stil aint lucky to find a FREE SERVICE :D he he
with jus a lil work.. i think this can be shaped as a cool application :) but having a seperate application to do this is not recommendable, this piece of thing should wel fit into existing web apps that ppl use.. only then the Real power of this app could be felt :)
n ah i did try to create ma Facebook application. ohhh ma god.. the Facebook.dll in the codeplex is a damn crap peice of .net component.. wont they hav some 1 to test it.. One of the downside whn some thing is not a MSFT product and when u dont hav an evangelist for it.. Lemme see how far do i go about making this desire a reality! ;) 20 agosto varying lane!when i was travelling to office by evening.. i jus found lane towards office was literally empty.. atmost 2 or 3 vehicles passing on it.. n th other lane.. was jampacked with vehicles, moving outbound from office.. Its obvious tat every one wishes to reach home First! ;) being a programmer.. all that came to ma mind is.. y is this resource not being used perfectly! Classic problem statement. "Its a two way line. ppl locomote in either direction. Observed behavior, is one part of the road is seldom used and th other part is being over crowded!" Solution: Y not allocate some space of th seldom used lane to the other over used/crowded lane?!?!? Is it possible?! of course its..All we need is a system to identify the amount of flow on each of the lane. 1. First we need to identify whthr th lane suits to the above model?! 2. If it does suit, then we need th system to identify which lane is over crowded. 3. The seperator/divider shall move to allocate more space to the crowded lane from the vacant lane.. 4. infact these seperators shall not be a single seperate for Miles.. it will be disconnected seperators.. 5. Which can inturn mean, the seperators can take a collective decision. This will be awsome to keep things perfect.. when excess flow is found in the lane from which we had encroached.. then the lanes can move back releasing the occupied area. when both are over crowded the seperator will lie in the middle. The movement of the seperator shouldnt be all of a sudden, should consider vehicles coming. n vehicles that are stagnant on the road.. it sounds in a way complicated.. bt feels quite achievable :) as usual.. am quite lucky for some big shot to come up with an idea similar to mine in a couple of months.. lets see how ma stars shine this time ;) lol.. |
